HOT HOT HAUTE!

HOT HOT HAUTE!

Do you love the thrill of food competitions? Join the fun at the 4th annual HOT HOT HAUTE!, a top level, high stakes student “iron chef” competition on April 24, 2008 hosted by the Professionals in Culinary Arts, www.professionalsinculinaryarts.org.  PCA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing scholarships to college students in culinary related fields, plus networking and educational opportunities for food professionals. Members span the nation.

To seed the competitive field for HOT HOT HAUTE!, PCA annually sends invitations to all area accredited culinary schools. The first two that respond are the participants.  Past teams have been from the University of Houston, The Art Institute, and San Jacinto Community College. The award ceremony is the best part of the evening when checks are presented, a $1000.00 scholarship to each member of the winning team of three, and a $500.00 scholarship to each member of the runner-up team.

Approximately $15,000.00 in scholarship funds has been distributed during our first three years, and past participants have received professional chef opportunities as a result of this competition. One participant went on to become sous chef to Iron Chef, Morimoto! So, you know the competition is fierce.
