Our senior staff consist of four full time registered and licensed dietitians. We also maintain a complement of contract dietitians, dietetic interns and support staff.

What is a registered dietitian (RD)?
The letters "RD" after a person's name signify that he/she has completed academic and experience requirements established by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency for ADA, including a minimum of a bachelor's degree granted by a U.S. regionally accredited college/university, or equivalent, and an accredited preprofessional experience program. RDs demonstrate their knowledge of food and nutrition by successfully passing a national credentialing exam and by completing ongoing continuing professional development.

What is a licensed dietitian (LD)?
"Dietitian" is a person who applies and integrates scientific principles of nutrition under different health, social, cultural, physical, psychological, and economic conditions to the proper nourishment, care, and education of individuals or groups to achieve and maintain health throughout the life cycle. The term includes without limitations the development, management, and provision of nutritional services. A license is required to use the titles "Licensed Dietitian".
Education and Experience requirements for becoming a Licensed Dietitian:
- Bachelor's or graduate degree with major in human nutrition, food and nutrition, nutrition education, dietetics, or food systems management, or equivalent internship and preplanned professional experience approved by the Board
- Successful completion of an examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association.

What is a Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian (CNSD)?
A Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian (CNSD) is a registered dietitian certified in nutrition support through the independent credentialing board called The National Board of Nutrition Support Certification (NBNSC). The NBNSC was established by the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN). Certification in nutrition support means that a registered dietitian has the knowledge base necessary to deliver parenteral and enteral nutrition support and has passed the certification examination. Re-certification is required every five years.
